Privacy by design

We will never ask for your bank login.

No Plaid. No screen-scraping. No passwords handed over to anyone. Uburu works from the statements you already have — and forgets the file the moment it’s read.

Most money apps

  • Ask for your online-banking password (via Plaid or similar)
  • Hold a live connection into your account
  • Can see balances and move-money permissions
  • One breach exposes the keys to your bank

Uburu

  • Reads a statement you choose to upload
  • Never connects to your bank at all
  • Has no login, no balance access, no move-money rights
  • Nothing to steal — the file is deleted after reading

What actually happens to your data

Honest about the round-trip.

You upload a statement

A PDF or CSV you already have. You decide what to share, and when.

UburuAI extracts the numbers

The statement’s contents are processed over an encrypted connection, purely to pull out transactions.

The file is discarded

We keep the extracted transactions; the original document is not stored. We don’t sell or share your data, and it’s not used to train models.

One honest caveat. Your data is stored on our infrastructure, and a small number of trusted systems use a service-role key to operate the app. What is true is that we never sell or share it, we never ask for your bank login, and you can have your data permanently purged within 48 hours.
